About the boarding

Accommodation

18 private apartments across two air-conditioned boarding sheds: eight large wooden hutches, four large indoor cages and six smaller hutches. Accommodation is available for singles and existing bonded pairs or groups, according to size and species. Different households are housed separately. Units have a resting shelf or house, hay rack and bowls or bottles. Wooden hutch doors have fly screening, and removable trays allow thorough cleaning between guests. Bedding, hay, basic vegetables and fresh water are provided; please bring your pet’s usual dry food. Heat lamps are available as an extra.

Exercise

Outdoor runs on grass or paving are available on request, with sole use for each household. Indoor apartments are generally preferred for protection from predators and disease. Grass cannot be fully disinfected between guests, so outdoor access is considered with each pet’s welfare in mind.

Health and hygiene

Pets receive a visual health check on arrival, daily interaction and bottom checks. Accommodation is cleaned and disinfected between stays. Rabbits require both Nobivac Myxo-RHD PLUS and Yurvac, completed at least 14 days before boarding, normally with at least one month before the next booster. Guinea pigs must be free from mites and mange. Owners must disclose health conditions, dietary needs and medication before arrival. Medication can be administered by prior arrangement. A refundable £100 cash veterinary emergency fund is required at drop-off; veterinary advice or treatment will be sought when necessary.

Insurance and qualifications

Insured with Protectivity for home pet boarding, grooming and animal transportation. Dee has over 40 years of experience caring for rabbits and opened the boarding service to other small-pet owners in 2023.
